Brenda Emmanus and Eddie Nestor
Hosted by BBC London presenters, Eddie Nestor and Brenda Emmanus, the event will feature artists from the African-Caribbean community and includes an eclectic mix of comedy and music broadcast from the BBC’s prestigious Radio Theatre housed within Old Broadcasting House in Central London.
Celebrating and showcasing the comedic talents of established artists, as well as up-and-coming and emerging new talent, the line-up includes, Nabil Abdul Rashid, who in 2010 at the age of 22 became the youngest black comedian to perform stand up at the Hammersmith Apollo. Now a seasoned professional, Nabil has also graced the stage of some of the country’s most famous comedy venues.
Nabil is joined by fellow comedian Annette Fagon who was nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2006 Black Entertainers Comedy Awards and Midlands Stand-up runner up in 2007, Annette is making rapid progress on the comedy circuit and has appeared at theatres across the country.
Toju – The Militant Black Guy, A Dot Comedian, Michelle De Swarte, Funny Miss London, Daliso Chapondo and Aurie Styla, complete the evening’s comedy line up with additional musical performances by Nyomi Gray and Lionheart.
